Are you afraid of the dark and if so what exactly are you afraid .
My littlest one is scared of the dark and always has been since she was born . Makes me wonder with no experience in life what she could have to fear . So this leads to my point are you afraid of the dark and for what reasons ?

maybe he/she watch horror movies. because all I know most kids even adults are afraid of the dark if they watch horror movies before they sleep and maybe they are a kind of person that when you watch scary movies before they sleep still reminds it to their memory.
but my kid is not afraid of the dark and I briefly explain it to her that its just only on television and they only put make-ups on their face inorder for them to be scary.

Yes it is so hard when we can't figure out the cause for it . Makes you wonder what they are afraid of when can't or won't tell you .
Thank you for your response .

I am afraid of the dark, or rather I'm afraid of what "could" be in the dark. Just because you can't see so if something we to jump out at you it would startle you and you couldn't see where to go to get away. Okay I realize this sounds silly, but a lot of fears don't necessarily make sense. I always leave lights on in my house for the kids (or at least I say it's for the kids, haha) so it's never completely dark in here.

It's seems a lot of people are afraid of the dark and it makes you wonder where these fears come from . Is the movies we watch or the actions of others ?

If we categorize kids on this category, there are only two: those who are afraid of the dark and, those who doesn't care whether it is night or day.
Old folks in the Philippines believe that children born during the dark hours are afraid of the dark, and those born during daytime are the ones who are able to brave it through even at the darkest hours.
There are now ways to help children conquer this fear. Do some cosultations and research. You can help by explaining to your child why there is night and day. What good will the night bring to us, just as the good day brings forth. Help him go around the yard at dusk or early morning. This will show him there is really nothing to fear as nothing bad happened to you while you were out there. Never push him to get out of the fear. It will only make him more afraid. One step at a time will do it best.

I do not fear the dark anymore but I used to when I was younger and would always need a nightlite on at night when going to bed. I was afraid that the big bad wolf would come out of the closet and get me. LOL Fortunately that did not happen. I was more afraid of not finding my way around and falling or hitting something and getting hurt. That was my main fear of being in the dark when I was younger.

I don't have a problem as such with the dark, just the feeling of being uncomfortable in some dark places. I get a little uneasy if I am walking through a darkened street at night. Indoors, if it is dark, no problem or fears, I guess being in a place i'm familiar with helps.
When I was younger I didn't like the dark at all, we used to have a huge tree outside the window and it used to cast shadows that looked real scary sometimes.

I am a man who walks alone and whn im walking a dark road at night or stolling throught the park, wehen the light begins to change i sometimes fell a littel strange a little anxious when ist dark, Fear of the dark i have constant fear that someones always near Fear of the dark i have a phobia that someones allways there, have you run your finger down the wall and have you felt your neck skin crawl when youre seaching for the light?
Sometimes when youre scared to take a look at the corner of the room youve sensed that somethings watching you.
Have you ever been alone at night thought you heard foodsteps behind and turned around no ones there?
And as you quicken up your pace you find it hard to look again because youre sure theres someones there.
Watching horror films the nigt before debating wiches and folklore the unkown troubles on your mind maybe your mind is playing trinks, you sense and suddenly eyes fix on dancing shadows form behind.
Fear of the dark i have a constant fear that someones always near fear of the dark i have a phobia that someones allways there.

She may just be afraid of what she can't see. In the dark things appear different. Your mind can play tricks on you.
As a child, I was very afraid of the dark. Of course, it didn't help that I had a brother telling me that the boogie man was going to get me. He made sure to convince me that the boogie man only gets girls.
Truth be told, deep down I am still afraid of the dark. I know there is no boogie man. In my house, I'm okay. But, outside I get jumpy in the dark. It's that fear of what I can't see that is scary.

Before when i was little, i'm really afraid of the dark because i can imagine lots of things like monsters, white ladies, bad people, etc. But now that i'm already adult, i admit, sometimes, i have that fear because i cant control my self imaginings things. But i realized that it's only in our imaginations, no own is really there..

In a way, yes am afraid of the dark! It's not that am afraid I can't see anything at all, but what am scared of is the thought that something horrible might just come out of the open. I love horror movies and so no matter how hard I try to look brave when left alone in the dark...at the back of my mind is still the fear that what I saw in big screens would be made real in that moment of darkness.
