My daughter was just diagnosed with Tourettes syndrome! How are you dealing with this, it's tearing me apart! Every medication she has tried has made her very sleepy and the last one made her extremly emotional, so emotional that I would tell her to make her bed and she would start crying and cry so hard that it would bust the blood vessels under her eyes! The other problem is that she doesn't weigh enough to take the other medications out there! I'm devastated with this whole diagnosis. How have you dealt with it and what medications have you tried?

I have the same problem with one of the medicines that I take. It works great for the problem but it cause me to gain weight quickly. I have learned how to manage both together by lowering my calorie intake and eating healthy foods. It is just something you have to train yourself to do, because gaining the weight can lead to other health problems. If eating healthier doesn't work you may need to talk to her doctor about finding a new medicine with fewer side effects.
