what is blog or blogging?????

I really dont understand this whole blog or blogging thing. What the hell is it? does it benifit me? Can it make me any money. Please help me because i really dont know what it is. Cheers Guys.

Blog is like an online journal where you can express your views, comments and share info about any topic of your interest. It has become a hot platform for spreading info on the internet, and nearly 45% of all internet traffic goes to blogs!!!
