This is probably going to be a different answer from most people, but I think my favorite song is Soul Kitchen. I don't think it ever really got much radio play or anything, but it's a song from their first album that has always stood out to me. There's just something so interesting about it. It can be read in so many different ways. It's very inspiring, yet upbeat and catchy... the lyrics are amazing. Such poetry. Just.. wow.

My favourites are:
When the music's over
Take it as it comes
The Crystal ship
Twentieth century fox
My eyes have seen you
The end
Break on through
and offcourse Light my fire,
They are all brilliant, can't choose one really.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY DIFFICULT QUESTION TO ANSWER!!! If I had to narrow it down though, the rocking beat in L.A. Woman and the chord changes in Love Her Madly. I saw the Doors in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 2005. No John Densmore, but they still rocked the house. Lead singer from the Cult was a wonderful replacement, if there ever could be one, for Morrison.

Hi don't know if I could pick just one. I bought the 6 disc box set when it came out a couple years ago, and I would definitely recommend that for any true Doors fan. The cd's have songs on them I guarantee not many Doors fans have heard.
If I had to narrow it down, I would say these are my favorites in no particular order:
-Maggie M'Gill
-The Changeling
-Roadhouse Blues
-Been Down So Long
-Backdoor Man
-Take it as it Comes
-When the Music's Over
-Five to one
-The Soft Parade
-Hyacinth House
-Peace Frog
-Orange County Suite (from the box set)

It's hard to choose really as the doors did so many good songs, but I think I'd have to say the "Unknown Soldier" as it has a strong message.
I also like "Hyacinth House" and "The End", "Moonlight Drive" is good too as it has an interesting sound.

The End is definitely one of their best, and one of my favorites, because of the same reason as you said. I also like Not to Touch the Earth because it's got the same mystique and different sound thing going on as The End. My other top favorites are Strange Days and The Spy.
