final fantasy XI can be said to be a forerunner of world of warcraft, couldn't it? it is the first online version of Final fantasy.. but unlike the other games in the series, the essence of final fantasy is lost in ff-XI (or so, i feel).. what made final fantasy a hit is the mode of gameplay... in that aspect, i consider ff XI as deviating from the original concept of the series. It can't be a true FF game. What do you people think of this pseudo-FF?

Being the first online version of the series, XI has already tainted the real value of Final Fantasy. MMORPG destroys the beauty of storytelling and memorable moments. When they announced for the first time that XI is going to be a MMORPG, I can't help feeling a bit disappointed. We want to remember the moment when Tellah sacrificed himself to save his friends, the heroic twin Palom and Porom, the dedicated and brave Galuf, the beautiful scene of the Opera House, Aerith and the sad moment of tragic, the great might of Cidolfas Orlandu, the memorable song of Eyes On Me, the innocence of Garnet and Vivi, the exciting Blitzball, the valueable moment on X-2 true ending, and many others that won't be finish to list here. That's all the value that MMORPG doesn't have.
