Well he was a jew (I mean as in a decendant of Judah not so much the religion), his mother was from Nazareth, so he probably had an olive complextion, and grew a beard which he kept somewhat trim.

In recent portrayals by Caucasian Christian artists, Yeshua ben Nazereth (a.k.a. Jesus Christ) has typically been shown with a light skin, a long "Presbyterian" nose, very long hair, and a height probably in excess of six feet. The face of Jim Caviezel, who plays Jesus in the movie "The Passion of the Christ," is similar to many modern-day images of Jesus. He is shown in the right picture above. Carlos F. Cardoza-Orlandi, associate professor of world Christianity at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA, commented: "While Western imagery is dominant, in other parts of the world he is often shown as black, Arab or Hispanic." 3 However, these have been based on pure speculation by the artists.

totally agree.Christianity did its early development in a predominantly western facing world and hence the images of jesus have always been predominantly caucasian looking. There was probably a deliberate move by the church to distance the image from anything jewish as they did with other trappings such as holy days and clothing. In reality being a Nazerite he would have most probably had the features of the people you see in the region today. Shorter and stockier that the average western build, with olive skin, black hair and a beard.
