Is the American economy slowing down?

The pundits in financial papers such as the FT say the US economy is slowing down due to a slow-down in the housing market. Is this correct?
Have American My-Loters noticed a slow-down and what is your opinion of the slowdown in housing?

No, I haven't noticed, but lately I have not really listened to the news about the economy. Sometimes, I just need a break from it because it riles my nerves.

Sometimes the news on the economy is wrong and the impressions of people like you from their everyday experience are more valuable. It's a good thing if ypu haven't noticed the economy slowing down - it means the naysayers are wrong.
