My son and I both love the Maya wrap. I have used it with him since he was born. He is now 11 months old, and although he is on the floor, there are certain times of day (between 2-4) that he just needs to be close to me, and not do anything except "hang out".
I don't know if he is happier than any of my other children, I think I do it because he seems to be needier than the others, and needs to be close. Perhaps it is a circle kind of thing? But, hey, whatever works, right?

Totally..it's so much more convenient for mama, too. I don't know what my house would look like without my carriers. :)

Yes!!! I am a HUGE baby wearing supporter. My favorites are The Moby Wrap and TheSlingSet sling. I don't understand why everyone doesn't wear their babies. I just did a blog entry last week I think on reviewing all the baby carriers I have tried LOL (a lot) You can see it at
http://quietquandaries.blogspot.com/ you might have to go back a few pages to see it but it has a picture of one of the wraps I made from looking at the site wearyourbaby.com

Lol! is that what they call it, when you carry your baby around in a little hammock, type nest thing. I think its sweet, its cute. I saw a Mum today carrying her baby this way.
Yes I know is some cultures they put the baby on their back and go back to working in the fields, baby snuggled close to them. Never knew it was called "Baby Wearing"

Right now the only thing we have is a Snugli. My baby seems to enjoy being able to be with me even when doing common chores. I'm a bit intimidated by the other slings though. I'm not sure how sufficient I would be with getting my baby into it, and getting it wrapped around me.

Be careful with a Snugli. If baby's legs are hanging down, kind of like a parachute harness, then it could be bad on her back. You should check out thebabywearer.com, there are a million different kinds of carriers that are safe for baby and easy to use. A wrap, for instance, you can just tie it on (making Xs on your front and back) and slip baby right in to it. There are lots of instructions on how to use diff't carriers at that site and mamatoto.org..Or you can search "Nine in Nine Out" to try and find a local group of mom's who could show you how to use other carriers...

I've got a toddler so I've got a mei hip carrier, I love it and so does he. I always carry him on my hip around the house, so I saw that and thought-hey that's cool! We go shopping and go on walks in it, he's 30 pounds and it distributes the weight great!

I've always wondered about those. My little man is already over 20 lbs and not yet 5 mos, so I'll have to try one of those when he gets older.
