Have you ever got in the wrong car by Mistake thinking it was your own?

Yes, I too have done it a few times. Once I got into the wrong car, and it still didn't dawn on me, until my husband did not get in and was laughing. I felt like such a fool. It was the same color and make as ours.

Yes, I did it once. It was at this place I used to work at. I used to have a blur Pontiac Grand Prix and another woman had the exact same car. Same year same color. One day when I was done w/ work I went out to the parking lot, got into the car and tried to put the key in. I started to panic and wondered what was going on until she came out and told me I was in the wrong vehicle. (I should've looked at the plates) We had a good laugh and it was the topic of discussion at work for a few days.

Mine is Santro Silver colour. There are thousands of such cars. Once or twice, I went to open the door with key, it wouldn't. I thought I was inserting the wrong key only to realise that it was wrong car.

Well I haven't gotten into the car but I tried to. It was identical to mine but didn't have the laundry we had in the back seat. I was trying to figure out who would want to steal our laundry when I realized it wasn't my car. Mine was right next to it but they were the same make, model, year, and color. I was almost tempted to see if the keys would have fit.

Yes!!! I have even done it recently. When I was working. I have a bright yellow Jeep Wrangler. And to my knowledge it was the only one in works parking lot. I came out of work one day when I was 8 months pregnant and waddled to what I thought was my Jeep, (I was so happy that I had gotten a better parking spot than I remembered from that morning). Heaved myself up inside and promptly realized that not only did I not have a tackle box in the front seat of my jeep, but my key didnt work in this one. It was summer time, so the tops were down on both (no point in locking it). The guy who owned it thought it was hilarious. He made it a point to park next to me whenever he could after that.

Funny I have done this alot when I was driving . I always just laughed at my self .... I don`t drive anymore so I haven`t done it for a long time cause I don`t get in cars at all ...

This is quite funny me finding this discussion tonight , we went shopping today in a retail park it was really busy and hubby and I ( not being 21 any more) were really tired , hubby started to walk towards a sky blue Citroen Picasso and I followed him , I stopped and realised he was going in the wrong direction altogether , It was the exact car as ours and we had a good laugh about it afterwards xx

A girl I used to work with had the same car as I did, only hers was a 2 door. Mine is a 4 door. I got in her car on accident. Oops!

I don't recall ever actually getting into the wrong car, but I know in the parking lots my kids have gone and tried to open doors on cars that look like ours. I've also wandered around thinking a car was mine from a distance when I had forgotten just where I'd parked. What did you do when you realized you were in the wrong car? Did the people turn around and give you strange looks? lol

I haven't actually gotten into the wrong car, but being a mini van driving mom, I have went up to the wrong mini van several times. It seems I bought the most popular color of my mini van, and I've made the mistake several times, only to get up to the door and see that it wasn't my van, since most of the times they were cleaner then mine!!

well this is funny I took a taxi once and did not know that it was not going my way untill it pat my turn I was around 16yr at the time told my brothers they laughed me to scorn lol

It happened to me too. Specially at night. There are many cars like mine where I live and trying to open the wrong car is a common mistake that anyone can make. One time I was going to open the wrong car and suddenly the owner of the car appear... It was a funny situation.

Yeah, when I was younger and was trick-or-treating I ended up getting in the wrong car. I think it freaked out the person driving more than it did me.

Thats funny, and it reminds me of something my mom and I did. My mom had been having problems with her locks freezing. So we both carried some lock deicer in our pocket. Well we came out of a store, put the key in the lock, it wouldn't open. We thought it was frooze, we put lock deicer in the locks, tried and tried to get in, tugging and tugging at the doors. After about 10 minutes of this....we discovered we had the wrong car, it was the same make and color as my moms car. We said ooops, laughed and hurried and got it my moms car. Lucky for us....her locks were not froozen. It truly was so funny.

yupp... wht an embarrasing moment....not exactlyyy It happened with me about 2 years ago. actually he did it intentionally he got inside nd then ...ohhh,...i m really sorry i thought...etc etc... now when he is my boy frend he told me tht he did it intentionally......

It happened to me once in a parking lot on a mall here in my country. Our car is dark orange color and a nissan I was in a hurry to leave and trying to open my car and it was strange I can't surprisingly that was not my car lol!!! My car is in the other side of the parking area lol!!!

yes it happened with us once when we coming from a shopping mall and went to the parking section and instead of our car we went into someone else car. i felt so stupid that how can one do such a mistake but me and my hubby both just went into it and then suddenly realized , GOD this is not ours....

Yes I have.. I was sooo embarrassed! I was in 6th grade back then. I used to be picked up by a not so fashionable mode of transportation back then- a jeepney. And at special occasions, my uncle lents us his car to pick me up- which I loved by the way because I get to go home in a car that air conditioned. So here it is- my cousin comes to pick me up, and I saw this car who looked exactly like my uncles’ car. Of course I went straight to it- and there was someone inside. I kept on opening the door but the person inside was locking the door and holding it so I can't open it. I though he was just another one of my cousins playing a game on me. Then the cousin who picked me up tapped me on my shoulder and told me to stop what I was doing, I told him that the car was here but someone wont let me in. HE laughed his butt off, and waved at the guy inside the car- for an apology. He took my hand and led to our ride.. yes to my dismay- the jeepney. HE was still laughing on our way home. I was soo embarrassed that day I couldn’t even laugh with my cousin.

Luckily, Never! hehe I usually checked out the car as well as the plate number before I get in, I'm just like that. But a friend of mine experience it once, their driver would always fetched her from school way back when we were in high school. It was the same car as theirs, she was in a hurry so when she spotted the car she just got in and say let's go having to found out that the it wasn't their car. She turned back and saw their car at the back next to it so she hurriedly jumped out of the car and went insider their car.. It was quite embarrassing according to her, she never looked back if anybody was looking..
