Where are all the lyricists?

Is it just me or have the lyricists disappeared? Im not talking about rappers. There is a difference between rappers and lyricists. Rappers rhyme to a beat and a baseline. A lyricist can flow acappella. Rappers rap about basically the same things(money,cars,rims,and b******). A lyricist speaks about things that make you think.Rappers use similies and lyricists use metaphors. When I think of lyricists Nas is the only name that comes to mind if anyone can think of any others please let me know.

anyone heard of manChild of MarsIll? He's a christian rapper and his rhymes can really make you think. No i-am-so-gangsta-i-am-going-to-shoot-you-to-kingdom-come attitude, no swearing, incredible methapors, just the truth and a unique, steady flow.

I couldnt agree with you more, there are barely no more quality lyricist out anymore, especially mainstreamers. If anyones still keepin the lyrics alive its, joe budden, royce da 5'9, saigon, papoose and nas.. everyone else is so corny.
