Some of the sports in other countries just confuse me and I'm glad their not widespread here. Cricket just baffles me. Personally, I love the mainstream sports that are available in the US (Real Football =P, Basketball, Baseball, etc.) and I wouldn't ask for a change. Now with the emergence of Ultimate Fighting, it's just one more sport that I love taking over TV.

You know me Toots I hate football with a passion. Actually I'm not at all a sporty person. I hated sports at school, and I can't think of anything more boring than to watch sport of any sort of the television. I do like watching and playing darts, but does that count? I also like snooker. And after our abysmal cricket match for the Ashes! We don't seem to be good at much in this country LOL.

I think sports in other countries are just hard for us to get a handle on them. I have seen other country sports and they do fascinate me, but I can't get into them because I do not know the rules and can't realate to them because I have never played them.

Yes. I sometimes enjoy soccer (football), which I would say is not all that popular in the U.S. Also I am interested in seeing a cricket match sometime, I've heard there are some in a park a few towns away from me.
And I always like watchingthe Olympics, which have a lot of sports i'e not familiar with (especially the winter games).

I love skiing, I cant ski, but I do love to watch it on TV.
My brother is a teacher at a private school in Cambridge and lucky him every year he gets to take a group of kids skiing. He's very good at both skiing and Snowboarding.
In the early 1900s, Skiing became a very popular competitive sport. The first Slalom race was held in 1921 at Switzerland. After three years, Nordic competitions became part of the first Winter Olympic Games, as well as the Alpine events which were included in 1936.
Nowadays, Skiing is the most popular winter sport with about 45 million fans and thousands of Ski Resorts world-wide. The sport has developed itself in a couple of ways coming with a number of variations of which Snowboarding is the largest.
