What is your dream house, and where would you live?

I'm pretty sure we all have a 'dream home' .. and a place we would love to live in ..
For years I wanted a farm house in Spain .. but now I am disabled that's all a bit too basic for me .. but I would still love to live somewhere nice and warm all year round .. Mexico sounds quite good, near the border with America perhaps ... I'd like a bungalow or villa type home with plenty of space with lovely views .. near a vibrant market with all those lovely fresh vegetables, fruits and fragrant spices ... shame I haven't the money to buy a little Mexican home .. but at least I can dream ...

I live in Southern California and often times try to think of other places I would like to live or move to but the more I think about it the more I realize that I love everything my area has to offer. We are only about 1 hour away from everything. We can go to the sbeach to play in the ocean & to the mountains to play in the snow.. all in the same weekend if we wanted. We are close to all of the local entertainment as well. We have every kind of food you could imagine and it's a melting pot of people here which is awesome. The weather is beautiful 10 or more months out of the year and there really isn't too much to complain about other than the fact that too many people are moving here!
If I had to move somewhere else, I'd love to live in a little quaint colorful village in Mexico. Right near the ocean but NOT near the border (I hate Tiajuana). My husband is from Mexico and I've seen some of the beautiful places there. It is our dream to one day own a second little home there and to vacation when we can.

I would say we are pretty close to the dream home we have always wanted. Well at least since we got married 24, almost 25 years ago. We went through two previous homes and we started with a pretty tiny home that was almost 100 years old.
Our second home was a duplex but that turned out to be a really pain and after 6 years we sold. We were pretty discouraged by then and decided it might be better to just rent and not have the headaches.
Well after a year so living with other people on either side of us we decided owning our own home was really what we wanted so we started looking and now we have the home we have always dreamed of and we also bought the lot next door so we could have a nice big back yard with a garden.
The only thing we would have changed would be to have the house wired for the Internet with plug-ins for each major room, but we will do that in a year or two.
I learned many years ago, from a real estate lady. "You have to live somewhere your entire life, make it a home"

My dream house would have to be by the sea, I've always wanted to retire by the sea. It would be at least three bedroomed just for ME. I wouldn't have anyone living with me, I'd live a hermit's life. One room with a kingsize bed, one room for the 'office' and one spare room for when I had visitors, or my mum. I would love Cyprus, because it was the first place I have flown too and the people are great there, it's lovely and warm and the sea is clean and clear. But I would stay away from the club scene like Ayia Napa. Where I can walk along the road picking fresh fruit of the trees and where oranges are aplenty. That would be heaven. That would definitely be a dream for me

As I close my eyes and picture that perfect place, where I would live in complete happiness, content with my lot for the rest of my life, I see snow and mountains. I see a huge modern log cabin style house with many bedrooms for family and friends and cozy fireplaces to encourage romantic cuddling. I see a kitchen shiney and new, with earthy colors that invite you to come in a cook. I see snow gently falling outside of the windows and a day stuck at eternal dusk, with muted sunlight fading into the western sky, just becoming dark enough for Christmas lights to seem magical.
Snuggle chenille throws draped over the sofa arms, within easy reach for impromptu napping. Shelves lined with good books and a library with a computer screen gently glowing, waiting for me to come and use it at my leisure.
Colorado... christmas time... Huge log cabin... my idea of perfection.

If I were able to movie anywhere I wanted, I'd like a small cottage in the middle of a forest. Yes, I know it sounds rather cheesy, but I like the idea of living somewhere that my next door neighbour is miles away!

As of right now in my life, I would prefer to live in my hometown in South Louisiana. It is 2-3 hours west of New Orleans. It would probably be in the country right outside of the city, that way I could have my friends and family close but still be out away from the traffic.

I would want to live in Alaska with beach from one view and the forest and mountains from another view of the house. I would want to be able to hike through the woods to take pictures or sit on a fallen log and read or sketch.
I would also like to sit on the beach and put my toes in the sand watching the waves roll in. Smell the salt in the air!!
My house does not have to be anything too special. But it must have a nice bathtub and a place to sit and read that is comfy during the very cold winter months.
But...it must also be accessible to cable internet...I am totally addicted. ha ha

My dream home is the house my uncle had when he lived just outside Stirling. It was 2 crofters cottages converted to one with a stable, huge garden and then a forest. No neighbours for at least a mile in any direction. If I couldn't have that a farmhouse would be nice but in Scotland.

My dream home is a log home in the pine trees, near a body of water (lake, river, etc). The home would have at least 4 bedrooms, an entertainment room, and a gigantic bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The tub would be so big that you have to climb up at least three steps just to get into it. It would be nice to have my log house in the foothills of the Rockies, but I would also be happy to be near the lakes in Saskatchewan. Also, I would have lots of windows, and at least 2 stories. On the outside of the house, I would build a large deck.

I am very happy right where I am . Oh I do dream about a little hut on a beach at times but for the most part, I am a lucky girl.
I live in my grandparents old log home. It took a lot to restore and we added some on. I just love it!

Ask me! I have been in most people's dreams about houses. My dad had a dream to build a nice and cozy home for us and we did with lot of difficulty. My friend was crazy of having her dream house built and we discussed her interiors so often that I almost know every inch of interiors in her house. Now, its our turn. My husband and I are planning to build a house in India and we are going ga ga ga with things. Its been always pleasent to get associated with houses for me. So, i have long way to go to actually live in one of my dream home.

I'd like to live in a highly secluded lake in Canada the only place you can be in the woods and have a lake for yourself. For boating, swimming, fishing, etc. You could have a small farm and be completely self sefficient. What could be better. I'd like to have a large but not to large house with a hot tub and sauna. probably 5 bedrooms 3 baths with a guest house all the game rooms and green houses and stuff that are in luxorious houses.

There's this house on a hill outside of Ocho Rios Jamaica that my hubby and I fell in love with when we visited there a few years back. To this day, we always come back to that house when we speak of our retirement years. It's open/airy with wide porches, all on one level, has a huge master bedroom with a patio that faces the ocean. I just love it.

My dream home??? well, I would definately want 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a big living room/den. I would love to have a big kitchen with lots of cabinet space and a cooking island in the middle. I love the look of the spanish type homes on the outside. Not sure what that type of architecture is called, though. I would LOVE to live sort of in the country...not so far out that you don't ever see anyone, but with some land so my kids can grow up with some animals. I grew up with steers and lambs and rabbits and would love my kids to have that experience, too. I, too, would want to live in a nice smallish sort of town in a warmer climate. Not TOO hot and not TOO cold! LOL
