How do you treat your children when they accomplished something?

Do you normally give rewards to your children whenever they did great in school? Or treat them out to the mall? Or can a simple "I'm proud of you son!" phrase will do? What's your style?

for super effort, the item generally goes on the wall in my family and stays there until itcan be replaced with some thing equally as good, or better. For instance, my oldest grandson is really struggling at math, possibly because he just doesn't want to be good at it and right now, there is a test on thedimningroom wall that he got 24 out of 25 correct, and everyone who sees it just has to remark on it, since it is right there by the dinner table. it makes him fel like he's accomplished something every time he gets a comment on it. When my kids were small theplace of honour wss on the wall of the front hall, so everyone coming in the door could comment.
