You're right. I am also a mother and like you, I feel the need to have my own income. I also find it hard to just count on what my husband will give me every payday. I always think that I should work for myself and not just be an ordinary wife receiving allottee from my husband. My husband is a international seaman, chiefmate, and is earning high average per month. But I don't want to count on that. I always think that anytime he can be unfaithful to me, and I wouldn't be a martyr just because he is the one providing for us. Even if he gives me and our son enough every month, I still feel the need to work for my own good - to be able to take care of myself and my son if ever anything happens to our relationship. I also don't want him to think that I'm, counting on his salary for my personal needs. As much as I am married, I want to be independent. that's why I think of every possible ways which I can have my own money. Lately, I planned of putting up my own business, like a foodcart.
