dating websites, do you tell the truth?

to those who have experience making an account in dating website or looking for a partner in the net. do you tell exactly what you are in your profile? or do you believe those people who wrote them? my boss is single and he is looking for a partner but since he is busy in his work he wants to look over in the net. do you think i should advice him not to do or to do it? i myself dont have any experience about this please help me give me advice pls.
