I'm a College student and I want to have a part-time job for extra income. I'm currently at an age where I spend a lot of money "young adult years". I'm currently doubting if I should continue working because I've heard that part-time job cause students to fail. Do you think that studying and working should be done at the same time?

I really dont think that having part time jobs cause the students to fail in their subjects. It actually depends on you as a student. there are reasons why student have part time job, others want to support their studies, there are those who just wanted to have a working experiences and others like you wanted to earn because you want to have some money to spend in buying things or partying. I do have a lot of friends who have part time job but get high grades in school and even graduated with honors. According to them, having a part time job is exciting because they aerned and as well meet new people but the difficulty is really being tired after the work.
in your situation, if you think having a part time job will cause you failing your subjects in school, i guess you really need to prioritize it more than the other. but if you are confident that youll have good grades though you have a job, then go for it.

There are parttime jobs which do not command much of your time. Guidance counsellors usually offer this opportunity. Checking test questionnaires at the rate given per questionnaire checked. There are others you may find in your community. Go ahead, it would be good for you to be able to help your parents out meet your financial needs.
However, it will not sound good if you are working just so as to have money to spend for senseless things. Learn to manage your finances properly. Spend your money on things which will do you good.

It all depends on the person and his study habits. Working will take up more of your time, so your free time will go more towards attending classes and studying rather than your social life. It's worth it in the long run to make the sacrifice, I think. I worked full-time all through 8 years of college, and I made it. It wasn't easy, and it wasn't always fun. But it can be done. You should be able to discipline yourself to work part-time and still maintain good grades.
