I think the best dog to take would be the one that sited your personality the most. If you are a laid back person I think it would not be a good idea to get a hyper dog. The best advice I could give would b what I have learned from experience. When you go to pick out your puppy from a litter sit down and wait till one comes up to you usually thee will be one in particular that will stick by your side as you play with the others thats the one you want to take home cause that puppy has picked you. I have found that by getting the puppy or kitten that has picked me makes for better bonding and a much loyaler pet

What is your lifestyle? Do you work? Will someone be home with the dog during the day? Do you have any kids? It has a lot to do with what you want a dog for. How busy is your life? We have 2 siberian huskies and they take a lot of time and energy. They are not good unless someone is at home all the time. A lab is cute, they take a long time to mature and they get big. Puppies are hard work, housebreaking, obedience training, etc.....

A lot of factors decide what kind of a dog you should choose. A dog that's good for one family may not be good for another. If you have kids, you'll need to pick a dog that's good with kids. Do you want a small, medium, or large dog? How big is your home or apartment. You wouldn't want a big dog in a little apartment. Also the maintenace of a dog, if you get a long haired dog be prepared to brush him all the time. You need to pick a dog that also fits your personality. If you find you like a certain breed just research the breed and find out if that breed will fit your lifestyle. Good luck! I hope you find the perfect puppy for you:)
