Is Dumbledore really dead ?

Is Dumbledore really dead ? thats a 64 million dollar question. we dont get a clear picture in the HBP. he had ample opportunity to save himself. he could have called Fawkes his phoenix to bail him out. also there are more than 100 house elves and they are very powerful creature. and in his funeral fireworks mentioned from his remnants envy worlds greatest laser show director. so guys what do you think ?

Maybe he had to die so that he could rise again just like his phoenix. If he comes back like that its possible he could be a younger stronger version of himself which will help in the battle against voldemort.

or may be for a shocker to harry that no place is actually safe and impenetrable. he really has to implement constant vigilance. cause in the hbp most of the character acted rather strangely.

I really don't know. But I don't want him to be. I'd like to think he'll be around when the plot ends, either to congratulate Harry for finishing off Voldemort, or helping Harry in finishing off Voldemort.

Tough one, you have great points though. I would like to think that Dumbledore is still alive and that Snape had to make it look like he went evil so he could protect Malfoy and get "in" with Voldemort to find out what is going on. I guess we shall see!
