i sent a poem i had written(along with a letter) to my boyfriend through post. it normally takes between 10 to 14 days for a letter to reach( i'm into distance relationship-different continents). the previous ones always reached. but this time he asked me to mail it on his new address. and the letter seems to have vanished. it did not reach him (and cannot be returned as it had no sender's address.) i wonder what do they do with such letters. where do you think these undelivered mails go?

Such mails usually find their way in the dust bins of people who have received and do not have any means to return to the original person due to the lack of the address of its starting point.

This is rather confusing. Did you send it to his old address or new address? Did you put enough postage on it? Perhaps if you included something extra it made the packet more expensive to post. Do you talk on the phone as well? If not, how does he know you have written and he has not rec'd your packet?

i sent it on the new address with sufficient postage. it had only three sheets of paper. ofcourse we talk on phone. but he loves to read letters handwritten by me.

In the "snailmail" system letters can be very late sometimes, i experienced delays up to 2 months before .. so don't give up too soon it may still be delivered if the new address is correct and your boyfriend can be reached there .. I think all undelivered letters that has no return address eventually gets burned or destroyed.
