Hello, let me introduce myself first. I am 25 years old, my job is into I.T. web development, stand alone programs development, among others.
I too was in your situation -- seeking part time jobs. I have my full time job even until now but you know, as a bread-winner in the family I have to double or even tripple the money I make to sustain the needs of my dependents.
I was helpless, until I found getafreelancer.com, have you tried this site? There are many indian freelancers there. Well, acceptably, you have to persevere in bidding until you get one project, have a good feedback and that should be the start.

I think the best about freelancing is that you can work whenever and wherever you want. You don't have to explain to your boss why you did this or why you did something different. The only one you have to explain things to is yourself. You can decide when you want to work and for how long. Of course it does effect how much money you make, but that is your decision. I do think freelancing is a good career choice, especially for people that do not like to work for somebody or doesn't like to work with co-workers.
