I dont know why but this really offended me...

I have problems that limits my working abilities. My wife and I have had to go to the government a few times for a little extra help here and there for things like food stamps and such.
Anyway, we went to our government social services office today and along the biggest wall in the place was the only painting in the buildng.
The painting was of a place in Mexico and nothing but spanish people in it.
Now dont get me the wrong way here. I am not a racial person but I really was offended by this. Here I am in an American government office looking at a giant picture of the spanish life.
Shouldnt there be like an American flag or something like that there instead???

I think it would be a good idea if they had aAmerican flag, but I think it should be Spanish people should be more upset as if maybe the Government thinks they are the only ones that need help....I hope things get better for you:)

I wonder if they do get offended by stuff like that?
Here they are in America but yet they are looking at a one of theyre own paintings on an American government offices wall.
Any spanish people here want to comment on this?

I guess that is always a possibility too.
I just feel that an American Government Office should have american pictures or flags.
Do you think if we went to Mexico we would see American pictures or flags? Does anyone who has been there know the answer to this?

I think that minorities get that kind of stuff so they don't moan too much.. then they get used to it and carry on asking and carry on getting. Many so called minorities are reproducing so quickly in their own countries that in 25 years the world population will have trebled so I don't care about this stuff anymore as I don't believe the world will go on for much longer perhaps another 60 years max, unless we manage to colonize Mars or some other planet..

I think utilizing another planet would be absolutly amazing. I dont think that's anything I will see in my lifetime however.
Did you know that it is predicted that if things keep going the way they are going, true americans will be the minority in another 5 or so years?

I agree with you that it should have something represnting the USA and not something about Mexico. That was out of place. Yes I can understand using local artists and such to give them work but still it should have been something designed to show pride in the USA.
