Y require an invitation?

If you want to open up a gmail account you require someone to send you an invitation....y should it be so....and as everyone can create a hotmail or a yahoo account without recieving an invitaion the same should be there for gmail....it should be open for all and not only for the invited.

I totally agree with u....I have no idea why someone shud invite u to open an email account....it is wierd....

When i open my gmail account i was needed an inviation. i think it is their policy. if u don't have any gmail a/c then i can send the invitation, just give ur e-mail id.
