i'm sure all u guys know that let's get it started was originally let's get retarded, and i like retarded better cuz it just makes more sense when u hear the lyrics of the song. if u've heard both, which one do u like better, cuz they even sound just a little bit different.

I actually had a confusion as to whether it was lets get is started or retarded.Thanks for bringing it to my notice that both existed.I like the phrase lets get retarded too.It goes along well.

I prefer the let' s get retarded version, much funnier. It is pop music though, so you cannot really hope for some high quality lyrics when you listen to it.

i don't really consider black eyed peas as a pop group or their music as pop although they are popular i think they have their own unique sound, and this song is just about loosening up and losing it, so it makes a lot of sense anyway.

Let's get it started is better than let's get retarded. I haven't heard of the song but it let's get it started makes more sense to me. Just like fergalicious and super sonic.

but if u listen carefully to the lyrics,it all just leads to the 'let's get retarded' sequence, and that was the original anyway. but hey your opinion is your opinion. thanks for replying to this discussion.

Let's get it started. I usually play this song whenever I workout. It's a nice pumpng up song especially on days when I feel so lazy. I have both versions. It's just hard to sing Let's get retarded out loud in public. people might say im insensitive.

i like both versions. but i got use to let's get retarded since it;s the one in the elephunk album. still, everytime i hear any of the two versions i really get started to dance and get retarded along the way! hahaha
