Today I found an Asian discount store and found double pointed bamboo knitting needles for $1.50 for a set of 4. At craft stores those run about $18.00. I couldn't pass them up. I got 3 different sizes. Double pointed needles are used to make hats & socks and other tubular items. I'll try them out tomorrow and see how it goes.

I am not a knitter but I do know that crochet hooks cost a lot of money. You are very lucky to find such a deal. All my hooks were given to me as gifts. If I got ones as nice as bamboo I would be ecstatic. Lucky you, great find.

I tried them out today and they are so smooth. They also have crochet hooks in some smaller sizes made out of bamboo.

I have never used double pointed needles. Although I have knitted many items, I have never knitted in the round. I find it too confusing.

That is a great deal. You all should look on Ebay too. I've seen some really good deals on there. Just last week I was the high bidder ($25.xx) on 11 paires of bamboo needles, and I was outbid at the last second. Also if you have an AC Moore, Michael's, or Joann's near you, you can use their 40% off and 50% off coupons on the needles. Around here, AC Moore has the best selection of both yarn & needles. HTH :-)
