How to quit smoking?

Actually i started smoking whn i was 16 yrs. At that time i used to smoke only 2 or3 per day bt now a days i dnt knw i smoke a lot. But i knw dat smoking Shortens my life n can form cancer, but by knowing all dis things i cant quit smoking. so is dere any body who can give some tips abt how to quit smoking?
