It is not necessarily the root of all evil but some people will do anything for money which is where the term comes from as far as I know. I think that fortunately today there are more people who consider that love, friendship, harmony, inner peace, serenity, trust and honesty are better to have than any amount of money. :)

I totally agree with that statement. Some people will do anything for a buck these days, with all these reality shows and such.

No, money is certainly not the root of all evil.
The correct quote is "The love of money is the root of all evil", but despite the fact that this is a cause of much evil it cannot be classed as responsible for all. There are other vices such as avarice and lust that cause just as many problems and make people behave in ways that they would not do otherwise.

Actually if you look at the Bible, it says the love of money is the root of all evil, not that money is the root of all evil. If more people took the time to read the word and follow it, we'd have a lot less problems now days
