For me it was Wasted Years. Love the melodic verses, that catchy chorus and Adrian's awesome guitar riff.

I love Iron Maiden but when I first heard some of their songs, I was thinking that the duration of the songs were too long and it took a while for me to become a fan. I think the first song I heard was the rime of the ancient mariner, which is a very long song.

wen i was in class 9(6 yrs ago)...my elder bro usually used to start metal in the morning at 7:30 b4 leavin for job...sometimes he likes maiden n metallica songs queued up on random selection(u kno the option "random")..while bathing ..so he wud be headbangin in the bathroom..
i was sleeping..i had not known of the existence of iron maiden...i used to listen to scorpions ..gnr ac/dc ..meatloaf..tat my bro used to play..
my bro started a tape at 7:30 am...it was powerslave..and wen the 2nd solo started...i was like in half sleep...feelin somethin inside me.....wen i came back frm school..i went thru the tape....it was a mixed maiden tape...
i then started wid can i play with madness....then flight of icarus..n stuff

though i`m not really into heavy metal , Iron Maiden is definetly an exeption. I think their first song that charmed me was Fear of the dark. there was no headbanging party on fridays and saturdays without Fear of the dark!
