Stars are ratings. The stars go from 1 - 10, and the more people rate your discussions and/or responses with a positive rating, the higher your "star rating" will go. Hope this helps you out some. :)

Congrats on reaching 100, For each numbers (1-10) Mylot allots different coloured stars. Mine Your ratings are seven. Hence both of us got Silver Coloured Star

The star next to your name is mylot star rating. The rating number between 1-10 is depend on the quality of your response and discussion. Whenever someone give you rating + or -, your rating will go either up or down. You can increase your rating by chosen as best response too.

Thanks for starting this discussion. I was also not sure about the number in the star and its colour. But the responses here have helped me understand it.
