Is Pathan not a better choice than Karthic?

Having played well in the past 3-4 innings, in all formats of the game, Karthic is on the lips of everybody. However, he is not a pure batsman being a wicketheeper mainly. Don't you think Pathan is a much better bet than Karthic being a handy batsman (as he has shown in the past 3 years) and a terrific new ball bowler on his day. He is not a bad fielder with quite a good arm from the deep. Only being a bit out of form does not meen that he has become a bad player. Furthermore, with the possible entry of Yuvraj Singh who will be a certainity for the world cup, India would have a relatively stable middle order along with Dravid, Tendulkar, Dhoni and Yuvraj. Playing an extra batsman in addition to these 4 plus the 2 openers would be too much of a luxury. Having a good batsman, who is also a world class swing bowler and a decent fielder will surely stabilize the line up. What do you say??
