In the digital age, we've become friends with people from all over the world. My question for everyone is this.. if something were to happen to one of your close friends that you didn't have contact with offline, would you know if something happened to them? Would their family think to notify their online friends? Would yours know if something happened to you?

that is a worring case i would hope to think they may but minght seem to have other things to thin about at the time. i have friends from around the uk and a cuple in the us but i do have all there phone numbers and call them often. much better to have there number then you are certain they are fine. if all else fails just worrie.

Yeah, that works if you have the number, but wouldn't it suck to sit and wonder "Where's Jane? I haven't seen her in months.. I wonder if she's okay." And never have the means to find out. Or find out months after the fact that someone you considered a dear friend had passed away..
