Twice a year I go to a full weekend scrapbooking crop that a Creative Memories consultant puts on. We arrive Friday evening and leave Sunday afternoon. I like to go to these because I get a TON of work done! I try for at least 50 pages, but this time I finished a whole album that was 45 pages. I was thrilled! My sister in law took this picture. That's me in the gray sweatshirt standing on the left. I can't sit when I scrapbook, I have to stand. Do you ever go to weekend crops? How many pages do you usually get done?

I am putting together a scrapbook for my son, it is tough to find masculine pages. He is in the Navy. I have bought a bunch of stuff, but am scared to start. Any suggestions on what to read before I start. A weekend crop would be fun? How much does something like that cost?

The place I go, it's $100 for the entire weekend. That includes two nights lodging, plus all your meals, and your scrapping spot! Pretty cheap! Of course, I always seem to spend at least another $100 on supplies while I'm there.... I know that Creative Memories has a lot of masculine stuff and Navy stuff too. Do you know any CM reps? If not, I think you can do a search on their website. Have fun!

Oh how fun! That's so neat. Have you seen the latest catalogue or book that consultants receive? The lady on the front cover who's been to the last 10 year crops is my friend! :)

I have never been to a crop. Though I have 'dreamed' about having a weekend crop on the Oregon Coast lol Though I'll have to get back in to scrapbooking first, I plan to hopefully soon. Glad you had such a wonderful time! I have heard so many good things about those weeekend get away crops.

You might want to contact some consultants in your area, often they hold crops or now of events. I think a crop is the best way to get started because you have alot of people availble to give you ideas.

I went to my first crop last year. IT was a great weekend away. I only got to stay for half of it as I had a commitment on the Saturday that I had to keep. Despite this, I still got to do over 30 pages. The secret is to be organised before hand. I recommend doing a power layout beforehand, so that when you get there all you need to do is decorate and adhere and journal. It certaily makes it easier. I agree with the need to stand up - when you have so much stuff, you need to stand to reach everything!

that sounds really interesting, i should go to more crafting meetings...if not only to get more ideas from them

Well since this is the first time I have ever heard of a crop, my answer is no- It sounds like such a fun thing though. I have been to many Creative Memory parties-- but never for overnight- How fun- Do the same people go to each one or do you meet alot of new people? Are there things there to buy or do you take all your own stuff? I love to scrapbook but just never find the time. I love it when I finish even one page! My daughter loves to scrapbook also- She does it alot with her grandma!

Wow that sounds like so much fun! Around here we never have things like that, however at the Y sometimes we have scrapbook nights that last for a few hours. You can bring your own stuff and they also have a little package you can buy which has some papers and stuff. Then you come in and scrap and chat and it's just a lot of fun. I've never actually done it, but I've heard it's fun. But for an entire weekend sounds like a blast! What other things do you do when you're there? Do you get to meet a lot of new people and chat?

I love crops! I generally try to hold just one day crops at the local hall or church once a month for my customers. I love it because it is the only time to crop without little fingers grabing and and little voices saying Mommy Please...... It looks like you were having a great time.
