A world without poverty is still a dream for me.
Countries are investing millions of dollars for weapons, related R&D and anticipating a neuclear war. But why don't they pool more money for poverty elimination activities. Take the case of Bangalore-IT capital of India. Even in the presence of world famous IT companies, still Bangalore is not able to eliminate poverty. You can find beggars, abandoned old aged people, children and women in the streets.

As far as India is concerned the reason is well known, Population explosion. It is like you have one piece of bread and 100 hands raised to get it. There is a vast difference between what you have and what you can give. More people less opportunities.
Now about those countries who can invest but do not invest in the cause of elimination of poverty, it is simpe, they want to invest in such places where they can make profit, when they invest 100 they get back 10,000. If they are going to help those people who have nothing to give them in return, they will also stand in the group of poor people... besides, the flow of money in business, defence, banking etc is very necessary to keep the standard of country and move towards developement. Poverty can be removed, but not so quickly, it will be done gradually, and first of all people of each country should think of removing poverty in their own country, and then expect from other countries, as others are always outsiders.

India is a huge country with huge income.
Why do you need other countries to solve your problems? You should be helping poorer countries with their problems.
