i was wondering, does anyone actually know the method that myLot uses to pay, ie. amount per post etc.

There are so many posts which explain about the payment methods. Also please go through the FAQs. Still not convinced, please put a mylot mail and you will get answer.

This site is not paying easily. One has to work very hard.
1. Post 10 to 15 good quality discussions every day.
2. Post 100 to 125 responses (Lackingstyle posts 300 +) per day and the responses should be informative, educative and atleast it should be 2 to 3 lines. Not just saying NO, YES, THANKS, IDONOT, etc.
3. Reply all the respnses when you get email
4. Fill the tag window with appropriate word
5. The most important is you should be efficient in typing. Thorough typing skill makes the above things possible.
By doing so, one can earn $5 to $8 depending on quality responses and quality discussions. More money can be earned if you bring in referrals. But here too, the referrals should work hard and out of their discussions, you are entitled for 25%.

If they pay for every post, how much is it? 1/100 of a cent?

There are different methods,I agree with OldBuddy,though,They do not tell us what they base it on,But I know that they base it on how good you're answers are,How good you're refferals reply,and start topics,You get paid around 10 cents per topic,and like 5-7 cent on A post,or around something of that nature,depending on how good you're answer is on MyLot.
