Is Sachin's loss of form being oversated?

Sachin Tendulkar, the biggest name in Indian cricket accarding to me. The name that sent tremmors to many bowlers spines. Even now when in full flow, is unmatchable. But, this same Sachin Tendulkar is sent down into the dumps as soon as he stops scoring hundreds. People think him as a run making machine. They think him as god, which obviously, he is not. The very people who were once jumping up and down their seats waching some of the sensational innings of the great master, are now critisizing him so badly and going for his head. Why do we often forget that Sachin is much more to the team than a frontline batsman. He has a great mind. He is a safe fielder and a useful bowler. Then why do we expect Sachin to do miracles in each and every game he comes out to bat. I believe that we should leave Sachin as he is and not worry too much about his form and ability because, as Geafory Boycott says, form is temporary and class is permanent. What do you say??

Sorry, I do not agree. It is difficult to see the great genius in Sachin these days. I do agree that he is one of the finest batsmen in cricket. But, being a star batsman, he must show his skills to play free cricket. In recent times, Sachin goes into his shell whenever he is not confident. In my opinion, he is the main reason for India losing the decing match in SA. He did not try to break the shackles against a spinner who had very little experience. An inexperienced Dinesh Karthick showed how to handle the same bowler.
Watch Lara. He may not be the same great batsman who scored 400+ scores in an innings. But, he is still so attractive to watch because he plays freely. This character cannot be seen in Sachin. Whenever he approaches any landmark, like a century, he goes into the hiding. Go through his scoring graph in the last world cup.
No doubt, Sachin is a great player in the past. But, if he is not performing to his potential then he needs to be told that. The Indian selectors had shown that history is not going to save you, as in the cases of Ganguly, Sehwag and Pathan. I hope Sachin will not come into this bracket.
Sachin, start playing your natural game. All the bowlers will hide from you. Hope to see a refreshing approach from Sachin in the World cup, probably his last one. Go Sachin! We criticize but we love you.

I think, you are right to an extend. however, he might not be attractive to watch as before, he might not charge the spinners and hit them for sixes over their heads, he might not make McGrath look like a toddler anymore. But as these statements, this is also true, that at present, India do not have any player (and not just a batsman) to fill into his shoes. So until someone is found with the same ability, passion, discreteness about the game, composure and that childish enthusiasm for the game, I don't think anyone can point out at Sachin's valuability to Indian Cricket and to the world in general. Hope you agree...

He is a very good player and there is no doubt about it. But you have to understand that currently he is completely out of form. I think now he is too old to continue the international level of cricket. So it would be better if the takes retirement. Because of heaven many young and capable players are not getting a chance. And I think the team management is playing politics as he is from the same region as the team management itself. If Ganguly can be dropped for bad form then why can't you tell Sachin to go and play domestic cricket and get some form back for him. I think it will be a very good ploy. In this way you are not dis respecting the great player but still you are clear about what you want from him and I don't feel there is in any harm in telling that.

I'd have agreed but you saw what happened a day before yesterday? He made quite a good 60 off 66 balls. But after that, when he tried to up the tempo, he got out. Once he got out, 5 wickets fell for 25 runs. Where were the yuvrajs, the karthics, the powars, the so called refreshing faces of the Indian team? They just crumbled on what was probably the best batting surface they could get. That's why I firmly believe that there ought to be atleast3 players out of dravid, ganguly, sachin, sehwag and laxman in the top 6 to make the batting stable. Out of these, surely sachin comes in the top 3. Because i think a weak sachin is much better than any of these youngsters because of his experience to handle tense situations.
