In dia has for long been a land of spinners. But of late, it has not produced a decent number of good spinners who are actually going for wickets. The Kartics, Amit Sharmas, Piyush Chawla's do not spin the ball enough to be successful in International cricket. In this phase of cricket, a couple of good off spinners have emmerged in Harbhajan and Powar but the main mantle still rests on the broad shoulders of Kumble. Apart from these, I think Sachin is the next best spinner in India. Atleast, he next best leg spinner. He turns the ball as much as Warne can. Ha all the variety that Warne has, and even a few more in offspinners and seemers. The only thing he lacks is consistency. Had Sachin become a more consistent leg break bowler, I believe, he could have matched the best in this eworld in this field. What do you think?

I agree with you. If Sachin would have paid some more attention to his bowling, he must have been the world's best leg-spinner. But then we may not see the world's master blaster batting the way he has done so far in his career. Anyway so far as crisis of quality spin bowlers in India is concerned I think it is largely due to one day international which just do n't let the spinners bowl the gentle old fashioned flighted deliveries and loops. So, they have to cut-off their main weapon and looks so ordinary during a test match.

Well yes, but look at Ramesh Pawar. he has not left the traditional way of picking up wickets. Is not afraid of tossing it up and even going for a few big hits. Eventually he gets the batsmen puzzled and gets them out. I think he's an excellent prospect but for his big tummy. What say?
