I have heard from reading magazines and news reports the best thing for a person when they are down is to be outside and not in the home. The sunlight provides some kind of chemical imbalance and makes a person feel better. i try to get out of the house as much as I can, especially if I start feeling down. It takes my mind off of things and have to focus on other things. Playing games with family and friends helps as well or talking to family and friends or listening to music.

when i am feeling blue, i look at the scrapbook of my boyfriend and i (we live in different countries). i get to smile whenever i remember him. then, go to my room and take a short nap. after, i usually listen to music or watch films. play with my dog or log in to mylot. then, i feel better.

Wow that must be hard to live in seperate countries. I can see why looking at your pictures help you feel better. I do that sometimes with my childrens baby books. They grow up so fast:) Dogs are said to make you feel better as well, I heard about some studies recently on the news.

Right now I think that I might be getting the color of blue because it is so cold. Getting in the sun does help chase your blues away, since sunlight helps to make vitamin d. Vitamin d helps with serotonin, which makes you feel happy. I also like to see a good movie or to read a good book tp take my mind off of my problems.

I don't sit in the sun like I used to. I get just enough sun in the summer time to have a bit of color. Other than that, I'm mesquito bait! I stick my nose out the door, and they ring the lunch bell for their relatives. They suck my blood as though they haven't eaten in 6 months. When they're out, I'm NOT!

it would definitely be eating with people i can have good conversations with. good conversations perk me up for some reason. i love talking about things at random. even pondering on serious matters, moreso when i try to argue (in a healthy way of course) and debate with someone about something i strongly believe in. I live up to these kind of challenges. Plus, when you have good food on the table, makes everything more exciting. :) but who could also beat good company? i think those are the main ingredients to chase my blues away.

If I'm blue, I try to do other stuff so that I don't think about whatever is bothering me. I read a book, maybe call someone, do some cleaning. Other times I do reflect on what's bothering me. If I'm REALLY down, I found that playing a video game works. Now, I hardly ever play them, so rarely that it's not even once a month, but the last time I felt like the world was crashing down on me, I played a video games and admist fighting the bad guys of the game, I forgot about my problem.

I usually go for a nice, long walk to get rid of my blues, whether at a park, neighborhood or just by walking around the mall. It gives me a chance to clear my head and get my mind off of things as well as doing some form of exercising. A nice, warm bubble bath is very relaxing and makes me feel better as well or watch a really funny movie.
