Would you prefer a person with good work ethics to be hired? or a person who is qualified or more knowledgable for the job? Why?

One can never find out whether a person has good work ethic or not if he was not hired in the first place. The employer is already putting risk once management decides to grant employment to an applicant. Precisely why normally, a probationary period is required. In here, both the employer and the employee get to know each other better. Once the employee satisfies both... prove his abilities and his attitude being gauged, he can be awarded permanency, or be terminated as the case may be.

I would think that good work ethics is most important. If you think about it, what good would it be to have smart people with no ethics? Your business could be turned inside out and destroyed by this type of employee. They are poison to those in the organization who are ethical. I read an article that said many employers like to hire people with a sense of humor over those more knowledgable with no sense of humor. A good sense of humor makes for a happier work place. Happy employees make for more production and less office politics.

I would hire someone who is energetic, smart, eager to learn new things, and eager to do a good job. A person who is qualified or have knowledge of it.. but have no good ethics or dont want to work properly is not a good worker.. so I would not hire that.. however, what would be the best is that if a person have the experiece or knowledge needed to do the job.. and also have the above characteristic as I mentioned.

At first glance of your resume the employer will look with educational attainment and afterwards the company you work before. It goes hand in hand together work ethics and knowledge, given the chance that thier is a certain applicant who among the rest has those 2 qualification then he/she was the one who will surely get the job.

For me a person with a good ethics is to be hired, because on my previous company as my experience, one or more person are more knowledgable for thier suitable job but they are lack ethics were some of thier co-employee hurting them. Therefore, i conclude that a person with a good ethics is to be hired because knowlegde can be learn.
