Do you give money to beggars knocking at the windows of your car? in my country, there are many beggars out there who knocks on our car windows and asks for money. i don't usually give money to them because some say that they're under syndicates. Also, most of them are not sick or i know they can find job if they will look for one. If ever there are children asking for money, i usually give candies instead. How about you? have you experienced the same? do you give them money or anything?

Well just your country, its the same in my country, there are too many beggars on the streets and well I do give them money but I first look at their state, i.e if I see a healthy man or woman asking for money whom I think can get a job and is asking for money because they don't want to work, they earn a lot from begging, there was one beggar who was intercepted by the police and the beggar had $135 which he said that he had earned in one day! That is the very reason I avoid giving money to those people, on the other hand if I see children or the old and disabled asking for money, I do give them because God has given me enough to help others, so why shouldn't I help them?

I depends on the situation. But I feel that no one should ever go knocking on someone's car windows if you are in need of $$ or something. I just find that a Good way to turn off people who otherwise might want to help. But I have been known to help people from time to time, and find nothing wrong with it. I usually just follow my gut instinct with things, and hope I am doing the right thing.

i dont really wanna do such thing. but i am often feel hurt seeing people beggin for money while me, im inside my car working & earning some. i cant help giving them but thats only during the christmas season. most of the beggars i see only goes out when they know its christmas, and i justify my giving as a simple christmas gift for them. but after the season, i wont give a nickle nor a dime. i better save the money & send it to charitable institutions.
for me, i opt not to give foods to beggars cause im afraid they may act liked poisoned from what i gave them and itll be my fault after all.

we usually just give like less than a $1. there are here in my country as well...well at least in the city i am. when they beg for money we either give them a few cents or nothing. we give a little more when we go to tj and kids do tricks for it or some grown ups. kids jug to earn money teenagers do the same thing but with fire, some of they put fire into a hoop and go through and stuff while is on fire. grown ups just play guitar and sing to earn. those we give a few more than we usually do.

Are you from the Philippines? If you are, join my discussion regarding filipinos so that we will know how many filipinos are members of Mylot.
Anyway, I seldom give money to beggars coz they might use it to buy rugby. What I do is I stack a bag of biscuits, like Bingo, in the car and when beggars knock on my window I give them 2 or 3 biscuits.

I was always caught in a dilemma whether to help beggars (only the children and senior citizens) on the street. Then I decided they wouldn't do the begging in the blistering sun if they had a choice. They wouldn't suffer the rumbling and roaring traffic of PUVs, trains and cars, and the racket of the many pedestrians if their families cared and provided for them. I agree to giving them food instead of cash, though. I don't want to be responsible for any unpleasantness some coins may bring on them.

I also don't give to beggars, because if we do, it means that we are tolerating them to be lazy and they will just continue begging and begging. I also hate those beggars who carry babies.

i prefer to give food to them because either they will give it to the syndicate or buy rugby in which they are addicted. its really pity to see that some babies are used by old ones just to ask alms in the street.

i have been an experience with a beggar that ask for money because they said that they were hungry in the reason that they didnt eat yet for the meal time since yesterday so on as long as they can just make an allibi for they really want to have a money. But with that encounter my pituitary gland lighted in a suspicious thing that they might be a part of a sindicate that spreaded in the cities because of pitty to them i give food instead of money because i actually seen them that they ate it than not.

No I do not. Rather then beg they should be motivated to find a job and earn some money for themselves.

Here in California, there are homeless people too but not that much. They're holding a sign saying "Homeless, need help!"...or whatever they want to put in it to get your attention. Honestly, I never give money to them. They should work instead of depending on other people just to survive. I am a minority here but I know I'm not a parasite in US. They should be ashamed of themselves.

God taught me in this passages, (John 13:34-35) LOVE ONE ANOTHER... Eventhough those people is handled by the syndicate, still they have a hard feeling of abusing, neglecting, discrimanating, because im pretty sure they dont like that kind of situation, but they dont have no choice? but to accept their situation.
What matters most here is help them in a simple way by giving them foods or saying "take good care of your self" is enough to give them boost in their heart. Their situation is not easy, i cant even imagine myself if i put myself into their shoes it is really hard to think right? Thats the way of giving Love to me...
