I would try and find the owner, being a good citizen. If no luck after some time, then I would donate it to a local charity, This is a great deed. THANKS!

If I found an envelope full of hundred dollar bills I would march right down the bank and deposit that cash into my account. Thats just me though. If it was a wallet on the other hand, I would return it.

Well, if their was an envelope with an Address on it, I would probably be Curious and try to return it to it's rightful owner. About 13-14 yrs. ago, I did find an envelope full of about $350 or so bucks. It was left on a Bench at a Bus stop. Problem was, there was no Bank statement, pr anything there with the envelope so there was no way I could ever begin to return it. I feel maybe it was just a thoughtful part on someone, or a Blessing from God in discuise?

While on vacation several years ago my daughter (age 15) found a $20 bill. As she walked along the path in a park she found a total of $140 in $20 bills. We walked back to the visitor center and reported it to the person incharge and gave then a phone number where they could contact us. We did receive a phone call and offered to send them a check for $140. Unfortunatly the person on the other end of the phone accused us of trying to steal the money. My wife was then told to drive back to the park to give the money back. I was about tell her to hang up and keep the money. The other party finally agreed to let us send a check and told us to keep $10, as a reward. I am glad we were able to return the money to teach our children the right thing to do. I am sorry that this person acted in a way that showed the poor side of people.

Good question. Actually, I have been wanting to find a purse full of money on the ground or in a taxi because I want to prove to myself how honest I can be. But IF I found a bag full of money, I would definitely return it to the owner. Unfortunately, I was the one who left my money in a car and it never came back to me. Now that I know how it feels to lose money I became more determined to be honest to other people. Gaining trust is worth more than a fortune because it multiplies and the happiness is more lasting.
