The phrase went ahead with its power and the people of Mordor, Gondor, Rohan, etc fought for their lives. They all prayed for their lives but the power of the ring cannot be undone. It took every possible thing and malice of the dark Lord Sauron. There were none left to remember which was not be forgotten. Then it came to the creature Gollum who took it to the dark caves and after five hundred years it abandoned him. it passed to most unlikely creatures of this world " A Hobbit". He shaped the fortunes of the people in the shire. he then gave it to Frodo with the most difficult task-destroying it. He went ahead with this challenge with his gardener Samwise Gamgee. Fighting for his life, facing the poisoned mind of Gollum, facing the great eye of Sauron he finally made it the mountains of fire "the mount doom" and ended the long lasting ring forever.
the movie is versatile and wonderfully featured one in its genres. it has broken all the records and now stand among the top movies ever made.

I think what is more impressive than the movie itself are the books, from which the movie was adapted.
To be able to describe a fictional world in so much detail is only possible by a genius and that Tolkien was. The level of detail in the book and the cult following the books have must have made it far easier for the movie crew to direct and produce the master piece.
