I have diabetes and I'm sick of it, especially injecting insulin twice a day! Pretty annoying, and sometimes painful (I do it to myself), any other way of lowering our blood sugar aside from sticking myself with needles full of insulin?

As far as I know there is no alternatives for insulin dependent right now. I fell sorry for you having to go this way. I am diabetic myself but not yet insulin dependent as of yet that's why i am only on medication and diet and exercise. I really don't feel yet the full impact of this disease yet.

I went from taking shots to oral medication just by changing my diet.
I changed to a low carb diet. This is what causes your blood sugar to rise.
It was a hard thing to do because I love Italian food and bread.
Once I got my blood sugar under control I can gradually add more to my diet.
I can even have half a medium baked potato, once or twice a week.
There are so many new low carb foods on the market that I am no longer
missing out on the things I love. There is even a low carb pasta.
Go to your library and look for the book Diabetic Low Carb Diet
It has a guide that will teach you the three steps to eliminating the
insulin dependency. If things keep up like I hope I will soon be able to stop the medication entirely.I went from 2 shots a day to 3 times a day oral medication then to 2 times a day oral medication. And from 10grm to 5 grm.
Oh, yes I eat cake and cookies.....made with almond and soy flour.

Insulin dose is calculated w.r.t to the body weight & also keeping in mind the blood glucose level.
Insulin dosage is related to body weight and various other factors too. According to a report, typically requirement of insulin is 0.5 to 1.0 unit per kg per day. Newly diagnosed people may have lower initial requirements because of continued endogenous insulin production.

If you are insulin dependent, as the name implies, there is really no other way to treat you except through injectable insulin. That is because your pancreas really do not produce (or don't produce enough insulin) to metabolize your blood sugar, hence you need an external source of insulin.
It also helps if you keep a diet low in simple sugars.
But, everytime you inject yourself with insulin, be thankful that there's a treatment for you. In the olden days, there simply wasn't any cure for diabetes and the people who are sick of diabetes get all sorts of complications from uncontrolled blood sugar. At least you have a fighting chance of living a near normal life.
Hang in there.

There is no alternative medication if you have reached a stage at which you've got to take 2 insulin injections per day. Why not try some yoga exercises, aerobics, etc. which will greatly help in reducing diabetes(maybe then you can alter your medication). I also suggest that you include a few veggies which will help the cause... I'm sorry i couldn't offer you more help.
