Kill Bill is the fourth film of Tarantino and is surely a masterpiece.Script is written by both Tarantino and Uma Thurman(Q&U) which follows a structure of a novel and hence more close to Godarian style of filmmaking(the idea of Andre Bazin and his followers),Infact the name of the production ("Band Apart")is a tribute to Godar. In his film Tarantino Quotes other filmmakers from Bruce Lee(the yellow dress that the Bride wears while killing O-Ren-Rishi)to Luis Bunnel(Ellie's eye Smashing scene). The name of "Bill" is inspired from the character Buffaloo Bill; The western hero. Thus the film is in between Western,Japanese & Chinese Action flick,drama/tragedy and gangster genre. In short a true post-modern film.Tarantino also plays with the soundtrack, the film is narrated by the Bride but the Bride is in Coma, then Who is narrating to whom? Some of the impossible scene is actually enacted in real sets rather than CGI being used(the massacre scene and the assAcination scene of O-Ren-Rishi).And the end discourse of superman and his identity by Bill (to Bride) is a master stroke. The film depicts the revenge is like a sword(concept of many Japnese film -Kurusowa)has double effect;as the enemy and the one who is taking revenge. The film also reflects the different dimensions of motherhood and is equivalent to Almodaver's All about my mother in a Tarantinised way.
