We still use post. Its the more legitimate way. Legally, if we want proof, we have to have the registered slip of a letter and it is acceptable in a Court of Law. So, I think, all modern systems are well and good, but we have to stick to the old method, when it comes to official and legal type of work.

No I don't use snail mail anymore. It's better to call using your cellphone or send message by e-mail than going to post office.

Postal system will continue even with the advent of modern courier systems,e-mail, this is because there are certain features the internet all on its own cannot take over. Besides there are people who will always want to send cards through sail mail because they have a personal touch as against the e cards which one cannot display or hang on your door. of course postal system will not be flourishing as it used to be but none the less it will continue.

We still need post office for certain reasons such those legal letters, govenments documents and nost of the formal correspondence as that still can't be replace by emails. I still using it when I need to send parcels or any important documents like the original sets that no way can be done by emails.

Postal system cannot be replaced. You cannot send books through internet. You cannot send household articles through internet. Post Office despite competition is going to stay. Courier service ;is not fully dependableand hence Post office is required because they provide scores of services to general public. It was oldest system and continue to remain in future too.

Postal system cannot be substituted completely coz people living in villages do not courier.nor do they open up their pcs and send an e-mail to their son who is working in a garage in the city.

In my opinion still 80% of our Indian people live in Village . our postal network is strongly spread over small village too.
1) In village area there is no computer , how computer is possible there is even no electricity .
2) Regarding Courier system -for single letter they have charged 30-35 Rs. . i don't think so that every middle class people aford this if u get this facility within 4 to 5 Rs.
today post-office advantages :-
1) postal system is more cheaper than all system
2) today they work as a great saving option for future.
3) it has strong network

it might b the oldest but the new technologies like email, courier and telephones have left out the postal backward and i think so no body posts now only in rare cases it is done and add me as ur friend and i ll respond to all ur discussion and rate all ur discussion so that ur earning capability get boosted up.

It’s losing importance for sending personal private letters and in some cases bills. Though there are still objects that you just can’t send any other way. Although I don’t think I could even see letters dying out because there will always be a large number of people without email.
I've never used a courier sevice to send anything, except a laptop though with something that expensive I'd rely on a service dedicated to the transport of items such as that.

We recently moved to a small town where we go to the post office to pick up our junk mail. US Mail has periodic fits about people no longer using their services. Stamps keep going up, but service has deteriorated badly over the years. Just like the Pony Express, the post office will have to bow to change. It just took a little longer for them to become obsolete.

I have an emotional attachment to the postoffice, because in India postal workers used to work very hard, travel in bycycle long distances to deliver the letters, post office provided multi functional services. When I read your comments, I feel so so sad that one day they go obsolete. Thanks for your response.
