I will only feed my cats science diet , this is what our vet recommends. I have never had a problem with any of them not eating. I do not feed them soft food I was told by the vet it is not good for them. Also if it is a male cat only feed it food low in ash because of their urinary track.

My cat eats Purina Kitten Chow and Meow Mix canned. She's spoiled.
My cat eats better than I do. I would never ever starve my cat - she eats before I do.

I feed my cat the Purina Cat Chow for indoor cats. I also give her treats to keep her tarter and hairballs under control. I can't believe that there would be any logic to starving your cat, I do know that it is very unhealthy for cats to be over weight, maybe that is why someone suggested it. I suppose though if I was worried about my cats weight I would talk to the vet, I really trust my vet he is like the family doctor.

My cats usually split a can of Fancy Feast in the morning and evening. I also leave a little bit of dry Natural Balance food in their dish during the day.

all three of my cats are under a year so they are still eating kitten formula, I think maybe I should switch to adult food because my male is about 22 lbs. and he will be a year next month. I think the kitten food is causing to much weight gain for him, but I definatly won't let them go without food.

My cats always have dry cat food available to them. I have one of the self feeders that will hold a 5 pound bag of cat food. Same with the water, it holds about a quart of water. I don't see any logic in starving any animal. I think that's what turns an animal into one that can't get enough and doesn't know when to stop-which could be very bad for them too.

I would never starve my cat, that just sounds cruel. We feed our cats wet food in the morning and they have dry food available to them the rest of the day (we just leave the food bowls out). We feed them Nutro brand adult cat food for indoor cats.

We use dry cat food for our cats. There is little waste involved. What we buy most is Meow Mix Hairball Treatment. The cats enjoy it and it helps with hairballs too. No need to buy other treatments. We were spoiling the little one by buying her canned food and giving her 1/2 a can in the morning. She got so spoiled that it was all she would eat. She went back to the dry food.

Starving any animal is cruelty and abuse. My pets have fresh water and full food bowls all the time. My cats like to nibble a little every couple of hours. Whoever told you this is definitely wrong. The only time I can't feed my pets is the night before they have to go have any type of surgery.

I would never do this to my animals, I think that is very mean. All of my pets always have food in their dishes. We don't have set meal times for the animals. My cat is rather fussy and if the food sits in her dish for more than a few hours she will let us know she wants fresh stuff by constantly getting under our feet and then going over to her dish and looking up at us until we give her fresh food.

I would never intentionally starve my cats. I always leave dry food and water for them, and in the morning, feed them as soon as I get out of bed. That holds them for awhile, and if their dish is empty or if one of them begs, I will open another can of food. My cats go through 3-4 cans of food a day, but I love them so much that I don't mind.
