before cellphones are made to make communication accessible for everyone ...but nowadays it has evolve into more high-tech version... i mean.. it has camera on it, some have mp3 players, some have video cams and so on... and because of these, people do not view the cellphone as a tool for communication, instead it became a luxury thing that shows the status of a person...because of these additional features on a cellphone, the main use of this tool has been overlooked by the people, which is to make communication easy and accessible for everyone... now, can you tell me if the cellphone is still a "need" or just a "want"???

For me it depends on what status the person has. If a low income earner and do not have any land line phone or computer which serves as communication alternative it is really needed to have a cellphone. But to those who can afford to buy those high-tech cellphones i can say that they only want to have it, because their friends have it too,and it is shows what status they belong.

for me, it's a need and a want combined. a need because my boyfriend lives in another country away from me. it's one way he communicates with me by sending text messages and when he wants to call me.
want because i always get to update my phone on what's new on the market. i have a nokia N73 for 5 months now. i love this phone. it's features and all. plus i love the camera and the video feature.
so for me, honestly, i say, it's a want and a need combined.

For me cellphone is now a necesity, when you're applying for a job you need to put your cellphone number to your resume so that HR can call you when your not at home and even your boss or your officemate can call you when they need your assistance. You also need your cellphone b'coz in most provinces there are few places which phone lines are available and I believe you don't have time looking for them, right? So the best way is cellphone (as long there is a signal to cater your text/call) they can reach you anytime.

I have had the same cell phone for 3 years, maybe longer. It has no camera, no extras. I use it for emergencies. I have 4 kids that I need to be able to get in touch with. I hardly ever make calls from it. To me its a necessitie and I don't need any of the extras.
