soda or pop or sodapop or what

ok i grew up on the east coast calling my delicious fizzy drink a soda . several years later i moved to ohih. my delicious fizzy drink by the people was called pop. (i was confused) i have also heard it called sodapop. so what do you call it? 60,000 MyLotters Strong please answer, what do you guys in other countries call your fizzy drink?

I'm from Ohio so it is pop. I have heard it called soda mostly in the south and in California. some places I have heard it called coke. As in what type of coke do you want? when I hear someone say soda I always think of baking soda instead of pop.

i think it depends who u talk 2 who u grew up with and what coast u grew up on other than that it is either a pop or a soda my friend

I'm here in the Mid-Atlantic and I call it Soda. But I think if you are in the south, you call sodapop.

I call it a soft drink, or I use the general "Coke." It's typical of people in the South. Pop is a yankee word.
