Don't we Indians also judge people by colour?

I was just catching up on this Celebrity big brother show & Shilpa Shetty controversy.What she underwent is definetly bad and my sympathy goes to her.There are views that all this has been staged to gain publicity for the show.Well I cant comment on that.But doesnt the same thing happen here in India as well.How many of us go by the colour?Take any marriage ad in the newspaper - 999% seek a FAIR partner or advertise themselves as FAIR / wheatish complexion & goodlooking .Take the sales of all the fairness products.they have one for men too.Honestly have you ever seen a really dark heroine or an airhostess or a tv anchor / VJ???? Discrimination is also happening here and its high time this crazy obsession with colour is stopped in all parts of the world.
