Who do you think is the best author of all time?

charles dickens is the best. no one can write like him.

W. Somerset Maugham is, for me, the greatest author of all time. In fact, I read his classic The Razor's Edge at least once every year. Another author that could make this list after he has a larger body of work is Carlos Ruiz Zafon, who wrote The Shadow of the Wind.

I agree with you,all authors are geniuses,among modern authors,Neil Gaiman,Joseph Heller,Michael Crichton are unique in their own way.But Agatha Cristie,according to my opinion is the best author of all time, and had a great influence on me.I think all her crime thrillers are ingenious and even if she decided to commit a crime in her life, nobody could ever find out.

I am so into sidney sheldon and danielle steel..i can finish those thick pocket books in two hrs ..All their books are nice to read.U can always feel that you are a part of the story.

This is a very hard question for me to answer. One author I really admire is Nora Roberts. She can write books quicker then most authors can and for the most part, they're still good. She also writes as J.D. Robb. I don't read all of her books but in opinion she is one of the greatest authors of all time. Authors I personally enjoy are Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum Line, Charlaine Harris and her Sookie Stackhouse books, MaryJanice Davidson and her Queen Betsy books, Laurell K. Hamilton and her Anita Blake Books, etc!

i think this question cannot be answered in general. it depends of the view from the readers and which interests they have. i can only list some of my fav. authors here Dan Brown, Agatha Christie, Mary Higgins Clark, Cathy Reichs, Sydney Sheldon, Dean Koontz, Stephen King and others it depends in what mood i am, sometimes i read crimes, sometimes fiction then another style is Fantasy. you see its not easy to tell, which is the best author. What i know is, that the Bible is the moste readed and used book in the world
