like many others im sure i dream about winning the lottery and such, one day i sat and just thought what i would do if i actually ever won. My husbands first thought was nothing invest invest invest. and i looking at our current fiancal situation and such said that if i just won 1,000,000 the very first thing i would do is by lots of land and build a house. Then i would buy my mother a better house and then his mother a house. that way there no matter what we would always have a roof over our heads

How thoughtful and caring of you. I'm sorry about your mom, and it's great to know you would take care of others with your money. Your mom raised a fine young lady/boy? is that you in the picture? nice pic.

If I won a million dollars the first thing I would do is pay off my car, and then pay off all my spouse's debt, then my parents' debt, then his parents' debt, then I'd buy a nice house somewhere in the country and probably invest the rest of the money somehow. Even after paying off all that debt I think there would still be a sizable chunk left over for the house. I'd also put aside some of it into a savings account for my son.

Count me in, in the debt paying department, too! Haha... I'd definitely pay my family's debt first, from my parents' debt down to my own... And even my boyfriend's family's debt (if they have any). Then I'll buy my parents a new house, or renovate their current house... I'd buy a car, and I'd invest some in real estate... I'd build my own house in one of those lands...
I'd donate food and shelter to the less fortunate. I'd deposit some amount separately in different banks, and I'd treat my family, and my boyfriend to a dream vacation. :)
I'd also put up my own business so the money can grow, so it'll sustain in the long run...
There's really a lot of things that we can do when we have a lot of money... *sigh* :) A million dollars is about 50 million in our currency...

yah right! pay all the debt, my debt, my husband debt, my parents dept, my brothers debt, my in laws debt. then i will buy my dream house and dream vacation house, i will give my parents money, my brothers ect. i will buy my dream cars, and cellphone, and jewelries, ect. ect. ect. i will also put aside some of it for business like restaurant and computer shop, and also for the futhur of my daughter. i will give the 10% of it to the charitable institution.

I'm kinda fortunate as I work for a financial organisation that also looks after investments... and I asked those "in the know" how much from a lottery win it would take them to "retire"... they ALL answered the same amount... $500,000.00
The reason?
Buy a house outright (in the $300,000.00 range), invest $100,000.00 in low-yield investments or stable businesses, and bank the last $100,000.00 as a "slush-fund" for basic living expenses.
That sounds about right...
Granted, I did a blog post on what I'd do with $25,000,000.00

First I wouldn't tell anyone I had won it. People change when they know you have money. Then I would invest it and live off the interest. I would pay off my debts, and set up trusts for my daughters. I would also but a new house so my daughters could all have their own bedrooms, and a minivan.

The first thing I would do is pay off my mortgage, and then I would pay off my student loan. After that i'd be debt free so I would put some money away for my brother so i'd know that he'd have enough to get him through univesity and have a nice little sum to put down as a deposit on a house, i'd also give a portion to my parents and to my other family members.
I'd probably buy myself a Nintendo Wii and invest the rest. I'm not sure if i'd have enough left over to retire but i'd make sure I invested wisely so that I could work part time.

The first thing on my mind will be my family. Get a trust fund for my family and have a stable life and then share to those who are in need. There is no better reward than to help others.People who dont have money to buy meds, who cant afford to have 3 meals a day, who sleeps on the streets and a lot more of the less fortunates. You cant bring your money to grave betteryet share it with others who are in need.

A million dollars is a great deal of money in my country...I think that the first thing I would do, would be to buy my mother everything she wants and needs. She took care of me in more ways than you can ever think of. I would love to sicure her financially. And then maby i could make a dream come true: I wish I could open a private office. I will soon becaome a doctor. I believe i will help a lot of people by doing so, free of charge of course. It is highly important to help others because nowadays nobody think of others...and those who do are few.

I would take 10% of it and give it to God, I would then give $20,000 dollars to the orphange, and $10,000 toward mathews high school. I would buy a house, land, and a Car for my boyfriend. I would by my brother and sister a house. I would give mom and dad $50,000 dollars. But, I bet my Fiance wouldn't like that, but if I won it that's what I would do, we'd probably split the money down the money as not to start a fight or argue how the money was spent. Lol-A home is very important and so expensive people rarely get the opportunity to live in the house and environment of their dreams.

thats sweet that you woul give 10% to god, but what would he do with it? hed rather you keep it and spread it like you would with the orphange and such that way there he knows that its going to good use.

if we need money very urgently for any reason, we can use such huge amounts for that..... but under normal situations, we can give the money to some poor and needy people (not everything but some) i think that will be one of the graceful attitudes

first thing i would do wont be buying something for myself...it would be keeping a cosiderable part of it for poor and needy people who are in need of it more than me...
today what all we think think is just about our self but we should realize the pain and need of other people living on this eart...after all its our duty to help them all..right..???

If I won a million dollars, I would pay off our debts. But buying material things, I think it will be something for my husband or my child. I always think of their needs first and foremost before mine.
