Tough Week

Hi all. I had to work hard today to catch up on all my friends posts. I have been gone for four days. My Aunt had emergency surgery on Monday. She had an anurism in her aorata right above her stomach. They said the only thing that saved her was the fact that it broke in the back and her insides kept her from bleeding to death.
She will be in ICU for up to 7 days. Now her lungs are filling with fluid so they had to call in a lung specialist. We are very close and this is hard for me not being there today. Going back this weekend. Plus we moved my grandma into a nursing home. She wasn't getting enough help at the assisted living place, so we needed to get her somewhere where they would take care of her. I just hope nothing else goes wrong. Thanks for reading this. It helps to talk about it.

As I've read to the end of your situation you really had a tough week. So are the only niece or newpew to your aunt that
seems you are very much tense about her condition, besides taking care of your grandmother to be moved to a nursing home. Maybe you should PM your friends here at mylot about it so they will not worry too much about your abscence by next week. You 'll have our prayers for the surgical procedures of your aunt on monday. God bless.

Yeah I know. She got really lucky. They said if it would have broke in the front she would have never made the hospital. Thank you for your prayers.

Hope everything starts to settle down for you. I know it gets to be overwhelming and very tiresome. Hang in there. Take care of yourself.

Wow that really is a tough week, its easy to sit and complain about little things and then when you hear or experience a story like this it certainly does put things into perspective. Im sorry that your going through such a tough time right now and your absolutly right about it helping to talk about things, it definetly a good way to express how your feeling and sometimes just writing it clarifies the situation a little. I hope that your aunt recovers, its very hard to have someone we love sick and not be able to be with them. My sympathies for the tough situation your in right now.

Hi Beautyoperator, Oh boy you must of really worked hard to catch up on all your friends posts. Your poor Aunt has been through a lot recently regarding her health so I do pray that she will be alright. But I do believe that your grandmother will be in a better place now that your family have moved her, and yes I beieve that it does help us to talk about it when things are not going right in our lives with our loved ones.

From what I read, your Aunt is in the best place for her until her body heals. There they can keep a close eye on her plus control any pains she may be feeling.
Putting a loved one in a home can be emotionally VERY draining and filled with guilt. But again she is also in a place where they can help her continue to live and hopefully begin thriving .
This has obviously been a very emtional week for you and your family.I hope you are doing something for yourselves. WHether it be a family movie ,a night out,or a trip to the swimming pool, the family deserves some time to recharge the batteries before they wind down.

Hope your aunt and your grandma will get well soon. It makes your day to day routeen very hactic if you have to take care of someone very near and dear in hospital. But the good thing is that you are able to help them and take care of them at their bad time whom you love.

Thank you. I may take you up on your offer. My Aunt was moved to a leave down from the ICU ward today. She has her breathing tube out and they let her get up for awhile. That's really great news. They are thinking that she may get released on Wednesday.
My grandma is doing better now to. She's getting all the help she needs now. It's a real comfort to know I have so many online friends that care. Thanks again
